Terms of Service

1. Who we are

StudyLoom (studyloom.io) is operated by Lokesh Sehgal, an individual sole proprietor based in Haryana, India. There is no separate registered company — “we”, “us” and “StudyLoom” in these terms mean the same person and business. You can reach us at hello@studyloom.io.

2. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. We may update these terms — see Section 14.

3. What the service does

StudyLoom turns study material you provide — uploaded documents, images, or a topic you type — into mind maps, flashcards and quizzes using AI language models, and helps you review flashcards with spaced repetition. Some features (larger outputs, exports, AI explanations) are available only on paid plans.

4. AI-generated content — check it

Everything the service generates is produced by AI and can contain mistakes, omissions or misleading simplifications, even when it is built from your own material. It is a study aid, not a source of truth: verify anything important against your original sources, textbooks or teachers.

We do not guarantee any particular exam result, grade, or learning outcome.

5. Accounts

You sign in with a Google account. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping access to the Google account tied to it. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country to consent to data processing), and if you are under 18 you should use the service with a parent or guardian’s permission.

6. Plans and credits

The Free plan includes one generation per day with smaller output limits. Paid plans (Plus and Pro) include a monthly allowance of credits. A generation costs credits based on the amount of source material (about one credit per 5,000 characters, with a minimum of one; images cost more). Credits are reserved when a generation starts and returned automatically if it fails.

Credits reset at the start of each billing period and do not roll over. Yearly plans receive their credits monthly. Output limits, credit allowances and prices can change; changes to a plan you have already paid for take effect at your next renewal.

7. Payments and billing

Paid plans are sold and billed by Paddle.com Market Limited, our payment provider and Merchant of Record. Paddle — not us — is the seller on your receipt, collects payment, handles applicable sales tax or VAT, and appears on your card statement. We never see or store your full card details. Prices are shown in the currency Paddle presents at checkout and may include local taxes. Subscriptions renew automatically each month or year until cancelled.

8. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel any time from Settings → Manage billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep your plan until then. Refunds are covered in our Refund Policy.

9. Acceptable use

Only upload material you have the right to use. Do not upload anything unlawful, infringing, or that contains other people’s sensitive personal data without permission.

Do not attempt to circumvent usage limits, credit accounting or feature restrictions; scrape, resell or redistribute the service or its output at scale; interfere with the service’s operation; or use it to generate content that is abusive, illegal or harmful.

10. Your content and our output

You keep ownership of the material you upload and of the topics you type. You give us a limited licence to store and process it, including sending it to our AI provider, solely to provide the service to you.

You may use the mind maps, flashcards and quizzes generated for you for your own study and teaching. Exported files carry a StudyLoom watermark; you may not remove it in order to sell or publicly redistribute those files. Subject to that, we claim no ownership over what the service generates for you, but because AI output can resemble other output, we cannot promise it is unique.

11. Our property

The StudyLoom product — its software, design, name and branding — belongs to us. These terms do not give you any right to copy it or to build a competing service from it.

12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

StudyLoom is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.

13. Termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaches Section 9 or that we reasonably believe is fraudulent or abusive. You can stop using StudyLoom and ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing hello@studyloom.io.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product changes. We will change the “last updated” date above, and where a change is material we will tell signed-in users. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes not resolved with us directly are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Gurugram, Haryana, India — except that Paddle’s own terms govern payment and billing disputes, since Paddle is the Merchant of Record, and mandatory consumer-protection rights where you live still apply.
